News From Hollywood
Friday, August 15, 2008

Who’s doing what to whom in Hollywood? We’ll tell you what we know. Or at least what we’ve read.

Paris Hilton gets her own comic book. Forbes names the best-paid actresses. Lindsay Lohan converts for love.

Isaac Hayes and Bernie Mac are dead.

The apocalypse is coming. News.com.au reports that Paris Hilton is creating a new comic book superhero based on … herself. And inexplicably, she’s reportedly working with none other than Stan Lee.

The hotel heiress has been working with Stan Lee, who co-created the Spider-Man comic books, to invent a character for a new MTV cartoon. While Paris refused to divulge any details of the new collaboration, she did reveal her favorite superhero power. She said: “I’d love to be invisible – that would be fun!”

Forbes magazine has published their list of Hollywood’s highest-paid actresses. Judging by #1, they use the term “actress” very loosely.

10. Angelina Jolie - $14 Million
9. Amy Adams - $14.5 Million
8. Meryl Streep - $16 Million
7. Sarah Jessica Parker - $18 Million
6. Jodie Foster - $23 Million
5. Gwyneth Paltrow - $25 Million
4. Reese Witherspoon - $25 Million
3. Jennifer Aniston - $27 Million
2. Keira Knightley - $32 Million
1. Cameron Diaz - $50 Million

Lindsay Lohan, by all appearances experiencing the love that dares not speak its name, may be converting to Judaism for galpal Samantha Ronson. MusicNews.com reports:

The 22-year-old singer - who is said to have been raised in a Catholic household - is considering altering her religious beliefs to bring her closer to DJ Sam, who she has been dating since late last year.

A source said: "Sam's family is Jewish. Lindsay has learned a lot about Judaism from Sam and admires its beliefs."

However, friends of the 'Mean Girls' actress have doubts about her intention to fully convert to the religion and think she is just doing it for attention.

The source added to Life and Style Weekly magazine: "Two years ago it was Kabbalah. Last year it was Alcoholics Anonymous. She was into 'peace' for a while. Whatever is of the moment, that's Lindsay. But the one thing it does show is her commitment to Sam. She could be any religion and Lindsay would be open to it."
