"The team's first choice for the animation director was Todd,
he's the best in his field and that's who we wanted to work with on the film."
-- Peter Care.
The Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys
is a full-length feature film released in the summer of 2002. Based on the 1992
debut novel by Chris Fuhrman, this coming-of-age drama was directed by Peter
Care and starred Kieran Culkin, Jena Malone, Jodie Foster, Emile Hirsch and
Vincent D'Onofrio.
The R-rated independent film -- distributed by ThinkFilm and produced by
Foster's Egg Pictures - features nearly 20 minutes of animation produced by
Todd McFarlane and Todd McFarlane Entertainment.
The main characters are budding comic book artists and the comic-style
animation is used as a storytelling device to further the film's plot.
